Growing up in Paris, our founder and designer was a veritable gem lover and passionate jewelry devotee from an early age. After moving to New York City, she swiftly made her way into the jewelry industry, where she launched her career at New York icon Tiffany & Co. At Tiffany’s, she gained her first thrilling glimpse of the behind-the-scenes glamour of the world of fine jewels. She was instantly hooked by the magic that unfolded on the jewelers’ benches and commenced her formal Graduate Gemology studies.

She subsequently joined the New York location of industry icon, and renowned French jeweler, Van Cleef & Arpels. There, she served as product expert for High Jewelry and was later deployed to her hometown of Paris to contribute to the development of High Jewelry collections.

The desire to merge highest quality craftsmanship on one hand, with playful, urban, and modular design on the other, propelled Perle to launch MACADAM. The entrepreneurial, design-driven spirit that has accompanied the launch of MACADAM, was undeniably clear from its onset. MACADAM pieces would apply high jewelry craftsmanship to intentionally create jewelry for everyday wear: jewelry that emboldens and carries the wearer through all their daily activities and responsibilities, from the most mundane to the most fascinating ones.

MACADAM’s design and craft is deeply rooted in its New York City urban environment. The name itself — macadam is an asphalt-like compound made of stones and tar to form roads — is an ode to New York City where its creations are designed and crafted.

The streets that define the city’s grid are lined with macadam, and its cityscape continually inspires MACADAM jewelry designs. All pieces are crafted with precious stones and luscious 18-karat gold and platinum.
